Washers are one of those modern necessities that get overlooked. They aren't glamorous by any means but when one breaks down on you, you're definitely going to feel it. While they are tough and reliable machines, just like any piece of technology, they malfunction from time to time. We are going to talk about the most common issues you could experience if you own a washer.

Why is my washer bouncing around?

All washers are going to vibrate to some degree but that's not the bouncing that we are talking about. Is it vibrating more than usual or even bouncing? No need to worry, it could be as simple as your washer not being level or worst case scenario your shock absorbers have been disconnected from the washing machines chassis. Why is my washing machine so noisy?

Washing machines will make a noise when you run them but if you notice a louder noise than usual, there’s a number of potential causes. First, check if any coins may have fallen out of your jean pockets while running a load. If you don't see any coins or anything else that may have fallen into the washer then it could be because something has got caught in the drum, if your washing machine has removal paddles then you’ll be able to look around in the drum to check. If you can’t do this then you may be able to get access using the heater hole instead.

Why is my washer not draining correctly?

If your washing machine suddenly starts to drain slowly and you start finding left over water in the machine after a cycle then it might not be as serious as it looks. Simply check the filter and see if there’s any blocks or obstructions, remember to carry out regular checks on the filter to ensure there’s no build-up of dirt or grime.

Let's hope that this isn't something major. It could very well be that you are trying to run loads that are just too big. That's an easy fix but if that's not the issue than you may have a bigger problem on your hand. You may have motor problems or more serious issues. It's recommended that you get a professional out there to diagnose what's going on and help you make a decision on whether to repair or replace your washer.

Why is my washer not filling up with water?

If your washer isn't filling up with water, you most likely are going to be dealing with a blocked or kinked hose. The hose is located on the back of the unit most of the time and is easy to access. If this isn't something that you want to mess with, getting an appliance repair technician out to your home isn't a bad idea.

It can be messy work but it’s usually an easy problem to solve, you should also check for any blocks and make sure your filters are clear as well.
